Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning news anchor and crime reporter for WCBD-TV. O'Dell's reports in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance regarding DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. The result was the state government imposing more stringent regulations in these cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell her Best Report of the year Award to all South Carolina media. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
